My recent stay at the Morangie in Tain offered a mixed experience. The hotel boasts charming Highland character and immaculate cleanliness. My room was spacious, well-decorated, and quiet, which provided the comfort I needed after a day of exploring. My mobility issues posed a challenge. I was placed in an upstairs room when a ground-floor option was available but refused by staff. With no lift and 26 stairs to navigate, this significantly impacted my stay. While the evening meals were commendable, breakfast lacked consistency. One day two eggs, the next just one. The shower also underperformed despite a staff attempt to remedy it. While there's luxury to be had, potential guests should weigh the cost against these considerations carefully.
